Exterior Fire Retardant Wood Products

For those specifications that call for a fire retardant lumber product that will have exposure to the elements or high humidity and still maintain a fire rating.

In addition to submitting to ASTM E84 testing for surface burning characteristics, our Exterior Fire Retardant Wood Products have also been submitted to ASTM D2898 accelerated weathering (rain) tests.

Our Exterior Fire Retardant Wood Products have a clear finish which can be stained with a water based stain or painted with a latex based paint. They are manufactured at our Chicagoland treating facility and are available for immediate shipment for orders as small as a few pieces or as large as multiple truckloads.

Exterior Fire Retardant products are not rot resistant, thus they will not last as long as preservative treated products in outdoor applications. Regular application of latex based water repellent is recommended. To help increase longevity of outdoor decking/porch applications, we recommend the use of cedar, as it is a species of lumber that is naturally rot resistant.
