Fire Retardant Plywood

Plywood is one of the most widely used wood products in the building industry. Because of its strength, plywood is resistant to splitting, cracking, and other wear and tear. However, plywood is still subject to catching fire. However, with the use of fire retardants, plywood can become resistant to fire too.

Fire retardant plywood is created by applying a chemical preservative to the plywood. This chemical preservative helps the plywood withstand heat and resist burning. If a fire is to occur, the preservative will help the fire retardant plywood burn more slowly than untreated wood.

When compared to regular block wood, fire retardant plywood seems to have the upper hand. Fire retardant plywood is stronger than solid wood because of the way it is constructed. In addition to its strength, fire retardant plywood is usually lower in cost than regular wood. It also provides more protection against bugs and mold than untreated wood does and is more durable.

Despite the superiority fire retardant plywood has over solid wood, the two types of wood actually have a lot in common when it comes to everyday applications. Like block wood, fire resistant plywood can be stained or painted. It can also be used in any way that regular, untreated plywood is used. Basically, it can do everything untreated plywood can. The only difference is that fire retardant plywood offers a lot more benefits and protection.

There is really no reason not to use fire retardant plywood over other types of woods. A fire can happen anywhere, so it is important to always be proactive in protecting your building or structure. Fire retardant plywood is offering consumers a way to protect their structures from any sort of fire that may occur. With so many benefits and practical uses, fire retardant plywood is a great investment for all building projects.
